First, the MRI. It went well, I laid on a teeny tiny table for 30 min, perfectly still with my knee locked in some sort of contraption. It wasn't too bad though, only half of my body went in and I had earplugs because the machine is so loud. I was done in about 45 min all together.
I saw Dr Domingo today. He came in the room dancing, gave me a big hug and told me how excited he was for us that we are expecting again! Baby's heartbeat was 160, which is in the "girl" range in terms of the old wives tales. I measured right on for 14weeks and 2 days. Everyone in his office is so great, they were all excited that I was back, and PREGNANT!
I kinda have to laugh though, they have a new receptionist, and as I checed in, she asked me if I brought in my first morning urine. I said no, I didn't know I was supposed to. She said in a somewhat snarky voice, well, I hope you haev to go becasue we need a pregnancy test to confirm before we can do anything. I kinda laughed and said oh so my last 10 weeks worth of ultrasounds aren't good enough? One of the nurses stepped in and said, she is 14 weeks pregnant, she is coming from a fertility specialist, she is pregnant for sure.
He said that I am not a candidate for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cecarean) because I had such a hard time with Carter. He said I never made it past 7cm and he had to use the vacuum to get him out during the c section, so it will be a scheduled c section. They typically do them in the 39th week. Looks like we get to pick our baby's birthday the first week of June.

I'm FREEEEEE
Haha not really but today I was released from Dr Nash and am back with Dr. Domingo! No more driving 40 min to doctor apts! I had my final apt today, baby looks great. There is a 1 in 10,000 chance baby will have Downs Syndrome, and 1 in 15,000 change for Trisomy 13 or 18. Praise the Lord! This is such great odds!
I had an ultrasound and baby was moving all around. He said he couldn't tell us the gender yet. We found out Carter was a boy at 14 weeks 5 days, I am 14weeks 3 days....... I think he just didn't look to be honest.
I go back to Dr. Domingo in the morning and I have my MRI tonight. I will post more after my appointment tomorrow!

We've hit a speed Bump
Well I hurt my knee in July, the Dr said it was fluid behind my knee, gave me an anti inflammatory for it and sent me on my way. Well it never really healed, and lately it's been locking up on me and sometimes giving out. not to mention it often hurts. I went back to my primary care yesterday and he did an exam that showed there is still fluid in there, and there is some popping and grinding going on. He said he really feels that I tore off some cartilage and it's just floating around in there. This normally is repaired surgically. Well, the kicker is since I am pregnant he had to call the Radiologist to see if they would even do an MRI on me since I am pregnant. I got a call yesterday afternoon we are set for launch, I have one scheduled Wednesday evening.
I see Dr Nash for the last time tomorrow morning. He is then releasing me back to Dr. Domingo, whom I see Thursday morning at 7:50! Things might finally slow down when it comes to baby dr apts. But I fear if I have to have surgery then I will be spending the next few months in doctor apts!

"So how are you feeling"?
I think I've heard this about a million times in the last few weeks. The truth is I feel MUCH better than I did in the beginning. I found out I was pregnant when I was about 4 weeks. When I hit 5 weeks it all went downhill. I started not feeling great, a little queazy here and there. By 6 weeks I was sick morning, noon, and night. I was unable to eat, and I threw up brishing my teeth, walking to my car, pretty much whenever the urge hit I couldn't stop it.
Around 11 weeks I slowly started feeling better, felt good all morning and afternoon until around 3pm, then I was not feeling well the rest of the night. I am now 13 weeks and feel pretty good 99% of the time. I am still 3lbs under when I found out I was pregnant, but I lost 6 total. So that's not too shabby. About this time with Carter I had already gained 6ish pounds.
Everything this pregnancy is different. I can only think I am having a girl. We will see!
Another area of concern is my knee. I hurt my knee at work in July. I went to the doctor and there was a good bit of fluid behind my knee. They didn't do anything in terms of Xray or MRI. Well, 5 months later, it still hurts. I am afraid as I progress this pregnancy, and gain the inevitable weight, it will only get worse. Plus chasing after a toddler, it won't get better on it's own, you would think after 5 months it would have if it was going to. So I have an apt to see my doctor on Monday. I don't know what, if anything, they can do since I am pregnant but we will see!

Deuce
That's what we will call baby for now, until we know if baby is a girl or boy. I really think I am having a girl. I have thought that all along. Mostly because this pregnancy is drastically different than the first time around.
I am still seeing Dr. Nash, until next week when he will release me back to Dr. Domingo. I have been monitored very closely, every week at first with ultrasounds and now every 2 weeks, still with ultrasounds everytime. I think I've seen this baby on the screen as much as I saw Carter in my entire pregnancy! I'm not complaining, it's amazing to watch it grow from a tiny little blob intoa real baby.
I went on Monday for an NT test. This test is made up of an ultrasound that measure the back of the neck and take blood from me. This test is used to get a percentage of a chance that baby has chromosomal defects or Downs Syndrome.
I did this test when I was pregnant with Carter, it was optional. This time around I wasnt given a choice. I would have chose to do it anyway. I want to be prepared in the event there is a posibility. If results come back with a high likelihood we are given the choice to do an amnio or CVS. We will cross that bridge if we get there.
I go back to the doctor next Wed for results.

Exciting Thanksgiving News

So, I haven't posted in a while for a reason. I knew I would probably explode with joy! On Thanksgiving we announced baby #2 is on the way! That's right, I'm PREGNANT!
On Sept 29 I took a test. I am still really not sure why I even took one, it was 5pm, Todd was teaching and I was getting dinner ready for Carter. I gave up taking tests several months previous as things just weren't working.
It came up with a very faint second line. I couldn't believe my eyes. I hurried and fed Carter, then he and I ran to Walgreens for a digital test... I needed to see "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant". We hurried home, and I took the test. "Pregnant"! I was in shock. You see, we had JUST finished all of our fertility testing. We were going to start treatments in TWO DAYS!
I blew up some balloons and made a poster and put all of it and the test on the changing table, and shut the door. Todd came home about an hour later, and as he walked in the door I asked him to please change carter's diaper. I expected lip from him since he had just got home. He didn't at all, he said no problem. As he walked down the hall, I followed behind. He opened the door and was in shock. He turned around and said "really"?! I started crying and said yes.
We told our parents and siblings that weekend, and kept the secret from other family and friends until Thanksgiving weekend.
So we didn't hold off on fertility treatments for any other reason than I was already pregnant!
This is the poster I made to tell Todd.

Long time
Wow I can't believe I haven't posted in a while. Lots has been going on. About a month after I started my job at CCHO, I was offered a position with Canton City Schools Adult Education in Financial Aid. After much deliberation, I accepted the position.
I am still on staff at CCHO on an "as needed" basis and scheduled sunday's to do a "wrap around schedule" one on one with a resident. I've been off the last few weeks as this resident is in a psychiatric hospital for an extended period of time. When she is back we will resume.
I like my new job, it's just stressful to take over for someone who is no longer there and he didn't really have a grasp on things when he was there. I am just getting somewhat comfortable right now, and it's been 4 weeks.
Carter is walking and a typical toddler these days. He is all over the place. He officially has 12 teeth, now that he got 4 molars in the last 2 weeks. he's a very easy going baby and I am so blessed.
I never realized how much my life has changed with him in my life, but it's such a blessing that he is in my life. I truly am blessed.
We finished all of our fertility testing in September. Everything looks good, my tubes are clear, and my hormone levels are out of whack as we suspected. We have decided to put fertility treatments on hold. Now is just not the time.......
